Prof. RNDr. Vladimír Zeleňák, DrSc. is a distinguished scientific figure in Slovakia currently working at the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (UPJŠ) in Košice, where he is a Full Professor at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. His core expertise is primarily focused on the synthesis and study of ordered nanoporous materials, which are known for their huge surface area and low specific weight, making them excellent "sponges" for absorbing various molecules.Prof. Zeleňák is a renowned international expert in MOF (Metal Organic Framework) chemistry, from which the 2025 Nobel Laureates in Chemistry have been awarded for their discovery and development. His talk for Wednesday is entitled "A look inside nanopores: from structural perfection to functional materials and applications".
