About the Department
Scientific orientation
Research activities of the Department specialise in problems of all individual analytical disciplines of physical geography, physical-geographical synthesis, geoecology and theoretical-methodological problems of geography.
Recent research activity of the Department is focused on:
- Morphotectonic development of the Western Carpathians
- Paleoecological analyses of Holocene landscape evolution
- Geomorphometric analyses – first of all development of methods of land surface segmentation
- Selected aspects of recent climate change
- Runoff geomorphic processes
- Geoecological analyses for precision farming
- Land Cover structure and changes analyses
