ABOUT US

We provide study programs in Biochemistry at all three levels of University education (BSc., MSc., PhD.), during which students gain experience in the laboratory through their participation in research projects funded by domestic and international agencies. Our research is focused on several areas of biomedical sciences. We investigate phenomena related to cell aging, biogenesis and metabolism of mitochondria, DNA replication and functional characterization of selected proteins. Model organisms, which we study, include yeasts and microbes causing the sleeping disease or tuberculosis.
