Research Streams

Three main streams of recent research activity are characteristic for Jozef Minár:

(1) Development of physically based land surface segmentation procedures. Research is realized in international collaboration with Lucian Dragut (Timisoara Western University, Romania), I. S. Evans (Durham University, UK) and J. Pacina (J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic) and was covered by APVV project. 

(2) Reflection of the deep lithosphere and geodynamic evolution in the modern topography of the Western Carpathians. The research started in the framework TOPO-EUROPE initiative Source & Sink Project and continues in framework of 'top scientific team Geodynamics' (Team of investigation of geodynamic development of the Western Carpathians) identified by Accreditation Commission of the Government of Slovak Republic, since 2015 (more info, in Slovak).

(3) Research of geomorphological and paleoecological aspects of landslides in the Outer Western Carpathians in collaboration with T. Pánek and J. Hradecký (University of Ostrava, Czech Republic).
