Research and application

Marianna MOLNÁROVÁ has been working as a researcher and teacher in the study programmes "Environmental Studies" and “Ecology and Environmental Conservation” at the Department of Environmental Ecology and Landscape Management at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University Bratislava, Slovak Republic. She wrote several scientific publications in the English and Slovak language. Her research is focused on the reciprocal interactions of toxic/heavy (semi)metals (mainly As, Cd, Cu, Ni, Sb, Se, Zn) in photosynthetic organisms including plants and algae in physiological growth, fresh and dry biomass as well as biochemical photosynthetic pigments, protein thiol groups, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances, bioaccumulation, bioconcentration, translocation factor, and water content parameters. The other topic is study of these toxic (semi)metals on the plant hyperaccumulators and their using in the bioremediation.
