Among the Faculty sections, the Geography Section is one of the smaller ones. It consists of four departments covering a wide spectrum of geography disciplines.

The Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology,

the Department of Human Geography and Demogeography,

the Departments of Regional Geography, Protection and Planning of the Landscape

and the Department of Cartography, GIS and Remote Sensing create a wide-range complex.

Physical Geography and Geoecology is focused on issues of physical geography and geoecological research, including pedogeography, biogeography etc., offering a synthetic geoecological approach and landscape planning.

Human Geography and Demography deals with recent economic, social and demographic trends, their territorial differentiation and factors of spatial differentiation.

Regional Geography is focused on research of new trends of regional development and regional policy.
