Field excursions

Every year, the Department of Geochemistry in cooperation with the Slovak Environment Agency (SEA) organizes a varied program of excursions to various burdened locations in Slovakia within the subject "Field exercise in geochemistry".

As part of field trips, students can see:

• Anthropogenic deposited materials (heaps, sludge ponds)
• Municipal waste landfills
• Old mining sites
• Ongoing remediation works
• Caves
• Active mining and treatment of mineral resources
• In situ measurements of water parameters (oxygen, ORP, pH, EC, etc.)
• Sampling of water, soil and river sediments
