Area of research
Currently, she studies the use of sorbents based on waste materials for the removal of organic (pharmaceuticals, pesticides) and inorganic pollutants (arsenic, antimony) from contaminated environments, soil and water. She also investigates the fate of microplastics in the environment. She participates as a researcher in several scientific projects focused on environmental protection and remediation (Horizon Europe - ARAGORN, APVV, VEGA). Her pedagogic activities include teaching of statistical methods and supervising of several bachelor and diploma theses. During her doctoral studies, she investigated the fate of herbicides in the environment, their retention and degradation in soils, and she modeled their possible transport to groundwater using the MACRO, PEARL, PRZM and PELMO simulation models.
