Admission instructions - master level

Please note: In the academic year 2025/26, we offer master study programs only in the Slovak language sofar. Currently, we don't offer master's degree program in the English language, planned program Chemistry will be open for applications only when the accreditation procedure is completed.

Admission procedure

The basic condition for admission is the successful completion of first level of university education with bachelor diploma.

If the foreign applicants choose to study in the Slovak language, the most important condition for their admission to study such program is knowledge of the Slovak language at a level that enables studies in the Slovak language. A foreign applicant is obliged to take an entrance test on knowledge of the Slovak language and, in case of insufficient knowledge, to take an intensive Slovak course before the start of the semester.

1. register via e-prihlas system
2. fill out and confirm e-application
3. generate payment order for e-application fee (PDF with payment data or QR code), pay the fee and attach confirmation about payment into e-prihlas

Applicant -  student/graduate from another university or Faculty of Comenius University

      4. applicants from another institutions are obliged (on top of the above mentioned steps 1-3.) to attach: notarized copy of Bsc diploma and CV

Please note: if your application is not complete, we cannot begin your application review until we have received all required forms.

The application will ask you to provide biographical and study information and to detail your extracurricular activities. Please, in case of submit a paper version of your application, send the application and the attached documents) by email on address: prif.souniba.sk 

Once we receive your application, we will send you an email with further instructions.

Nostrification

Successful applicants from abroad and Slovak citizens graduating bachelor study abroad must deliver a document of the equivalence of university studies (so-called nostrification) to the Department of Student Affairs of our faculty on the day of registration for studies (generally first half in September). Please note that the nostrification process usually takes 1-2 months. We therefore recommend applying for nostrification immediately after obtaining your bachelor diploma!

The process of recognition of documents has 2 stages:
1) Transfer of grades from university abroad -> the foreign applicant transfers his grades to the Slovak scale based on the manual of the transfer of grades.

2) A foreign applicant (or a Slovak citizen graduating abroad) submits an application for nostrification at the Centre for recognition of diplomas by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic (address: Stromová 1, 813 30 Bratislava-Staré Mesto, Slovakia)
