Project summary
The aim of the project is the development of methods of detailed research of the spatial structure of the landscape, landscape changes and their application in selected areas, representative of the cultural and natural landscape in Slovakia. During the project, several approaches to detailed research of landscape dynamics will be applied and the suitability of methodological procedures will be evaluated, including field research, application of GIS environment and various data sources (databases, maps, aerial and satellite images) for selected urban and rural landscape structures (settlements, agricultural and forestry areas, water bodies). The project will also apply object-based classification procedures and deep learning. The obtained results, in addition to the development of geographical research, will help to refine the knowledge about the natural and cultural landscapes of Slovakia, while the project outputs can be used in the field of landscape management and protection.
