Study Criteria
Doctoral study programs at the faculty may be pursued on either a full-time or part-time basis. A full-time program typically spans four years, while a part-time program extends up to five years. Doctoral studies are guided by an individual study plan developed in conjunction with a supervisor.
Successful completion of the doctoral program necessitates passing the dissertation examination, classified as a state examination, and successfully defending the dissertation (the final thesis). The program integrates both a study component and a research component. The study component primarily involves lectures, seminars, and independent study of specialized literature. In contrast, the research component focuses on the student's individual or team-based scientific work directly related to their dissertation topic.
Full-time doctoral students are also expected to undertake teaching duties or other professional activities related to teaching. These responsibilities amount to a maximum of four hours per week, on average, during the academic year in which instruction takes place. The program utilizes a credit system, with doctoral students earning credits for coursework, teaching and educational activities, and creative scientific work.
Minimum publication criteria
Two co-authored outputs in categories V1 to V3, including at least one scientific publication in category V3 in a journal indexed within the Q1 to Q3 quartiles (JCR).
