Entrance examination

The admissions examination will take place on June 19, 2024. 

The entrance exam is a personal interview between the applicant and the experts commission. The applicant will present his/her ideas about the doctoral studies, demonstrate skills, previous experience and expertise in dealing with the dissertation project in the relevant field, present the main theses of his/her conceptual framework of the PhD thesis and give any additional information about the potential for the chosen PhD position. The Commission pays close attention to all of the  candidate's positive qualities and evaluates the opportunities for plausible successful completion of the dissertation. 

During your PhD interview, you will have the opportunity to see where you will be working.  You will most likely be shown around by a current PhD student and you can ask them about how the team works as well as any other questions you would like answered.

In accordance with relevant legal standards, the applicant will receive an invitation to the entrance examination no later than 14 days before the exams take place on the campus of Comenius University in Bratislava. In certain cases, at the request of the applicant, the Dean of the faculty may permit an online conference interview via Skype. For the result of the entrance examination for doctoral studies, a record of the interview is prepared. The Commission will present a proposal for the acceptance of the successful applicant to the Dean. Results of the admission procedure will be published on the faculty website within 24 hours of the interview.
