What to do?

Bratislava is the place to go, with some bigger or smaller museums and cultural institutions around town. The most recommended ones are:

Slovak National Museum  (www.snm.sk), Museum of City History in the Old Town Hall (www.muzeum.bratislava.sk/en/index.asp), Gerulata  this is an ancient Roman military camp built in the 2nd century, Danubiana Art Museum (www.danubiana.sk/en), Slovak National Gallery (www.sng.sk/en/uvod), Bratislava City Gallery  (www.gmb.sk/en/home),

The capital city is also home of the world famous Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra (www.filharmonia.sk/en/) so if you love classical music, you should consider attending one of the concerts in the historic Reduta building. For more cultural indulgence, the Slovak National Theatre  (www.snd.sk) offers a wide selection on ballet, opera and theatre performances.

Parks and Gardens in Bratislava offer the places to relax and spend nice time with friends. Bratislava has some large and small parks such as Sad Janka Kráľa located near the coast of the river Danube, established in 1774−1776. It is the oldest public park in Central Europe. In summer time the bank changes to beach with lots of attractions and outdoor cinema. Other places to visit are ZOO, Botanical Garden of Comenius University, Medical Garden or Garden of Grassalkovich Palace (Residence of the Slovak President).
